What Is Dry Skin?

Dryness of the skin can be caused by many outside influences, such as the weather, extremes of temperature, air conditioning, and central heating - all of which can cause the skin to feel flaky, chapped, and tight. This is usually as a result of low levels of sebum in the skin and the inability to retain moisture. You can get dry skin all over your body, from eyelid dryness to lip dryness, and even dry hands and feet. 

Although it may be tempting to apply creams to hydrate your skin or to exfoliate the dead skin cells away, this may exacerbate the situation. Sometimes, we need to look beneath the epidermis to allow your skin to regenerate itself more effectively from the lower levels upwards.
